UKHF is a registered charity devoted to supporting orphaned and vulnerable children in Busiiro village, Uganda.
We work in partnership with the Healing Focus Orphanage Centre, a Ugandan NGO started by Tom Bagoole and his wife Esther, to advance education and to relieve the extreme poverty and sickness of local orphaned children.
Our objective is to help make the school a residential, self-sustaining enterprise: owning its land and buildings, growing its own food, creating its own businesses, integrated within the community and in partnership with Healing Focus School and Orphanage Centre. Every year a group of self-funded Trustees visit the school to provide extra support and guidance on the ground.
Our work is rooted in the principle of non-discrimination. We believe every person should be able to enjoy all the rights enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights without distinctions based on race, colour, sex, language, religion, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status. We are independent of any government, political ideology, economic interest or religion, and are funded mainly by public donations.
It all started with a trip by Paul and Maggie!!
It all started with a trip by Paul and Maggie, our founders, to Uganda in 2008. Since then UKHF has grown as a charity itself, and we have helped the school grow to the fantastic centre of education it is today.
Mission to make smile the world
Our work would not be possible without the invaluable support of the local community. The guardians that help us support the children who no longer have parents and the villagers that help build the school buildings by donating bricks.
Join our community & help others
We currently work in partnership with two Ugandan NGOs: Healing Focus Orphanage Centre and Femlead. We are always excited to expand our partnerships so please contact us if you’re interested.
