By 2010 the School’s success meant more attention from the Inspectors in the Dept. of Education and top of their demands for improvements was provision of new latrines: a new 50ft deep pit with 7 stands, 3 for girls, 3 for boys, and 1 for staff.
In face of a closure threat from the LEA the board decided and we agreed, that it was essential to replace the existing latrines.
Author Lisa Cody, who had contributed instead of visiting, was happy to see her donation used to fund this project and we later provided her with the photographic evidence.
Tom Bagoole bought the new land in 2012. UKHF funded the move, the erection of new wooden classrooms and a large hall. In 2013 a separate staff latrine was installed.
We watched with admiration, as the 50ft deep latrine was carved out of the ground on the new site.
2014 and the new latrines are all painted with a separate toilet for male and female staff. Thanks to the water tank, there are now two hand washing stations. –
